Christmas Concert 2012:
Good day parents and students! By now you have gotten your child(ren) their Christmas solo books, for those who want to participate in the Christmas Concert. Should you still need a book, or having troubles in getting one, please send me an email at [email protected] (copy and paste)
I sent all of you an email asking for when you are available to attend the Christmas Concert. Thank you for getting the dates back so promptly. The concert is NOT set in stone yet but will be 12/7 or 12/14. I am strongly leaning towards 12/7 because there is a possibility I will be in Haiti 12/14 on missions.
If you would join me in prayer as I seek instruction on the upcoming Haiti missions trip for 12/13 - 12/17, I would greatly appreciate all prayers.
I will have a date next week along with a sign up sheet. So, look for my email mid to end of October 26.
Most students have now started their Christmas music. Christmas music is a favorite of many students. You should begin to hear more practice taking place. However, please make sure your child practices their lesson book and warm ups everyday. I have everything in order on their weekly practice sheets. Should you need more assistance at home with practicing, please email me.
The concert will last about one hour. All students will have 2 minutes to perform solo material. Then, each student is allowed to perform duets/trios/families with other academy students or family members. This is a great time to work on a Christmas song at home with the family and perform at the concert. Brings families close and having lots of fun.
Yes, the rumor is TRUE! Every student is allowed, and encouraged, to dress up in Christmas costumes. I have seen Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, Santa, etc. at previous concerts. If your child is playing Angels We Have Heard on High...dress like an Angel. Are you playing Frosty the Snowman, then come dressed as Frosty. Many younger siblings have been good props too. There is a stage for dancers to dance to the Nutcracker. The sky is the limit!
One more thing....I am LOOKING FOR A SANTA. Should any parents know of a Santa costume (maybe your friend has one) and is willing to be Santa....I WANT YOU! Please email me and let me know: 1) if you know someone with a Santa suit 2) would be willing to be Santa.
